What made me want to get into PR was... the writing, and the fact that I didn’t have to take a lot of math courses to be a PR major.

The PR figure I most admire is… MP&F’s Senior Partner, Mark McNeely. He started the company 28 years ago and, along with the other partners, has made MP&F a destination workplace. He also happens to be a brilliant strategist and a math whiz.
I always thought I’d be … a nurse. My mom was a nurse and taught nursing. I realized in high school biology that I didn’t care for dissecting animals, blood, etc. As a PR practicitioner, I get to engage in a different kind of triage. It’s a better fit for me.
I’m at my best when … I’ve had at least seven hours of sleep.
My most prized possession is … a T-shirt quilt made by my mom.
I’m a closet reader of … Garden & Gun. Hunting is of no interest to me, but I love the writing that G&G offers.
You don’t want to be around me when ... I’m trying to get myself and my children out of the house in the morning.
The most interesting fact about me is... I’ve been with the same company since I graduated from college.
If it wasn’t for … Hootsuite, I’d be overwhelmed by Twitter.
My favorite PR moment was ... My favorite PR moment is anytime we can tell a story that may not otherwise get told and advance a cause at the same time, e.g., giving a voice to a domestic violence survivor. Those are the kinds of moments that energize me and make me want to work harder.
My next vacation will be in… Key West. I’m planning a few days of fun prior to the Counselors Academy’s Conference in May.
What one thing do you want to accomplish by the end of 2014? Improve my public speaking skills.
What do you hope will happen today? I hope I can track down the reporters that I need to pitch.
