Behind the Headlines with…Michele Anderson

My ideal day is… Any day spent with my family especially my daughters, Jemima and Isabella. Waking up late to the sound of the sea and the smell of coffee, is a close second!

What made me want to get into PR was... It was the only career at the time that could satisfy both sides of the brain, the analytical and the creative.

My colleagues would say I’m... Driven, hard working, humble, fair and hopefully, a lot of fun.

Five words that describe me... Smart, creative, kind, honest and real.

The PR figure I most admire is... A women called Louise Barclay, my first 'boss'.

I always thought I’d be… An entrepreneur. I like to build things.

I’m at my best when… It counts.

My most prized possession is… A sea biscuit.

I’m a closet reader of… Vanity Fair.

You don’t want to be around me when... I've had no sleep.

The most interesting fact about me is... I've flown supersonic, twice...

If it wasn’t for… The South African government, I would be a fighter pilot.

My favorite PR moment was... Watching Nelson Mandela use rugby to unite a nation.

My next vacation will be in... A remote place with no signal.

What would you like to do more of in PR? Truly integrating across disciplines. Stretching ourselves creatively.

What one thing do you want to accomplish by the end of 2014? Growth. On all levels.

What do you hope will happen today? My cold will miraculously go away.
