Description: Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal are looking for a reporter based in New York City to cover the foreign exchange market. This job, based at the NewsCorp headquarters in Manhattan, entails analyzing and breaking news on key trends in the foreign exchange market, economics, and global financial markets and within the foreign exchange industry. The reporter also will help cover debt markets and report on a range of spot news, from covering visiting central bank and finance ministry officials to news announcements from institutions providing foreign exchange services. The reporter should be able to react quickly to economic developments - both in the U.S. and overseas - and to put those developments in context quickly for real time readers. The applicant must have the ability to work in a fast-moving, sometimes stressful environment with extremely tight deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving and an excellent command of written and spoken English are a must. Candidates should have previous reporting experience covering business or economics news at a news wire, newspaper or magazine.
