The State Journal is seeking a general assignment reporter with an interest in covering local government and writing features. In addition to other standard elements of general assignment reporting (police, courts, environmental, consumer and other timely issues to name a few), the job offers a broader newspaper experience because Frankfort is Kentucky’s state capital with a governor, cabinet, General Assembly and politics.

Competitive salary/ health and benefits packages, including 401(k). Daily newspaper experience preferred. Exceptional work with a weekly or with a college newspaper will be considered. The geographic setting is Kentucky's bluegrass and thoroughbred horse country, convenient to Cincinnati, Louisville and Lexington.
