Location: Stevens Point, WI
The Stevens Point Journal, a Gannett daily publication, is looking for an aggressive reporter with strong deadline and multimedia skills to be its next cops/court/public safety reporter.
The successful applicant will be able to spot and develop high interest crime and public safety stories, develop sources to get exclusives and turn them around quickly for online and in depth for print. Strong video, photography and social media skills are essential. Nights, weekend and holiday work required.
Preferred candidates will have three to five years experience at a small to mid-size newspaper, magazine or other notable publication, embrace the digital focus of our publication, a four-year college degree and the ability to work independently on deadline. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, proof of insurance and own transportation.
