POLITICO is seeking a dynamic deputy editor to lead a team of reporters covering breaking news, the intersection of media and politics and more.

The ideal candidate will have a sharp nose for what’s news in D.C. and the ability to identify, assign and help craft stories covering a wide range of topics. We’re looking for candidates with experience editing in a fast-paced hard news environment; excellent news judgment; hands-on comfort level in tackling a diverse variety of stories; and a proven ability to work well with others under intense deadline pressure. Familiarity with social media and the latest trends and innovations in web journalism is essential.
