The American Chemical Society (ACS) Office of Public Affairs is seeking a full-time science writer to join an award-winning team that produces the ACS News Service Weekly PressPac, press releases, podcasts, video scripts and other content.

Central to the position is the ability to translate highly technical chemistry research published in ACS’s more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific journals into non-technical language that connects with the everyday lives of non-scientists. Applicants for position, located onsite in Washington, DC, should have newswriting and reporting skills with the ability to write a straight news lead in the active voice in inverted pyramid style and do so on a deadline basis.

Contact: Michael Woods, assistant director, science communications. mwoods@acs.org. PLEASE MENTION GORKANA WHEN APPLYING!
