Cygnus Business Media is recruiting for an assistant editor.
Virtual office setting in L.A. area is an option for this position. This communication professional will assist in conceptualizing, writing and editing content for the publication, both the print product (magazine published eight times per year, plus two special editions as well as the digital products (daily e-newsletters, Web site, including blogs, etc.). Occasional travel (3-4 times per year). Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industries very important, as are strong journalism skills (interviewing, business writing, etc.). Additional duties include maintaining and uploading content into content management system (CMS). Ability to moderate Webinars, produce audio blogs, and represent the publication at various trade events (as a moderator, etc.), and other roles that require professional appearance and presentation skills are also highly desirable. Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in journalism, communications, English or applicable field. Photography experience desirable. Proficiency with computers and layout application software and InDesign. Complete benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), PTO and holidays. Starting salary based on background/experience $28,000 - $32,000.
