Scranton Gillette Communications (www.scrantongillette.com) seeks an editor to work from our Arlington Heights, IL, corporate headquarters to fulfill the editorial mission and brand strategy across all media platforms for one of our construction titles.
Responsible for writing major stories and articles, managing editorial function: identify freelancers, assign, edit and/or approve all articles and designs for the brand(s) across all media platforms (print, websites, website channels, e-newsletters, e-blasts) while ensuring on-time, quality production. Establishes and maintains relationship with industry contacts and position as industry expert.
Coordinates with design department and other staff to ensure on time, quality performance.
Travels (25%) to conferences, trade shows, advertising events and reader calls.
Qualified candidates will possess 3 - 5 years editorial/media experience, preferably in magazine editorial, or comparable advanced degree experience. Four-year college degree in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent. Prior managerial experience preferred.
