Are you an airgun aficionado? Are you equally at home with pest control and target shooting? Are you passionate about pellets and obsessed with the technical details that power this exciting sport? If so we want to hear from you.

Future was founded in 1985 with one magazine, today we are a global business, based in the UK, San Francisco, New York and Sydney, creating over 200 print and digital magazines, websites and events.

We are looking for an experienced Editor with a passion for airguns to join us as Editor-in-Chief for the Field Sports Group's flagship title, Airgun Shooter.

As Editor-in-Chief you'll play a key senior editorial role that includes responsibility for well-respected enthusiast title Airgun Shooter and associated brand extensions, including print and video-based output.

You'll deliver a best-in-class magazine every month and any associated brand extensions and be responsible for ensuring that each product works for readers and advertisers, and is delivered on time and to budget.

You'll have a watching brief over the group's other airgun-related activities, such as YouTube shows and bookazines. In addition to maintaining current quality levels, you'll be required to develop and improve existing content to keep the products under your remit fresh and exciting.

You'll front key content as and when appropriate, get out into the industry and meet readers and/or clients at events.

This is a hands-on editorial role where you'll manage and lead the team, plan the editorial structure and content of each issue, commission material from freelancers and pass the copy ready for final publication.

You'll be an experienced and dedicated airgunner with the drive to take these brands to a new level and the commercial acumen required to keep the brands uppermost in the thoughts of advertisers.

Equally adept at developing compelling magazine-based formats and managing editorial teams to produce the highest quality output, you'll have an eye for detail, an understanding of what makes readers tick and the creativity to make Airgun Shooter and its associated brand extensions memorable.

Representing the brands to the airgun industry is a critical role of the Editor-in-Chief and you'll possess exceptional communication skills, the ability to build relationships quickly and the persistence to negotiate exclusives and secure commercial opportunities.

You'll have demonstrable editorial experience at Editor level or above, and have knowledge of the subject matter. A confidence and experience to lead and manage an ideas-driven editorial team is essential. Highly organised, with a calm approach, you'll be skilled at meeting short and frequent deadlines.

It goes without saying that as Editor-in-Chief you'll have excellent attention to detail, be skilled at working under your own initiative, and also be a genuine team player capable of collaborating closely with your team.

You'll ideally work out of our Leamington Spa office, although we are prepared to consider a remote working setup for the right candidate.

If you are looking for the chance to be combine your passion with your editorial experience we would love to hear from you.
