Law Business Research Ltd is an established news service and publishing house based in London, UK providing news, analysis and research tools for the global legal community. The company employs approx. 140 employees across five news and awareness brands, as well as other research and analysis publications.

We currently have a role for a News Reporter to join Global Competition Review (GCR) in our Washington, DC office.

GCR is a leading antitrust law news service and magazine, with subscribers within government enforcement, the legal industry and the wider business community on six continents.

The reporter will work alongside our teams in DC and London to cover regulatory agencies, court cases and law firms that shape antitrust and regulatory policy around the world.

The reporter will be expected to rely on original reporting to produce daily stories for our widely read news service and to summarize litigation and other developments for the daily USA Tipline. They will also be asked to craft engaging features and reports about issues that affect our savvy readership.

The job is document and research intensive, but we also spend much of our time in courtrooms, conferences and at the agencies, covering the events that shape the antitrust world in person.

Our journalists provide leading edge insight and analysis to an expert readership. Therefore you must have a degree in journalism, communications or law, or equivalent work experience, and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

A deep interest in business and legal reporting is essential; a background in either or both, and / or knowledge of antitrust law, would be an advantage. This is not primarily a political reporting position.

Successful candidates will be competitive, hard workers, and fast writers with the ability to find sharp angles in stories; they will also have a team-oriented and collaborative outlook on newsrooms, with a willingness to take on a range of tasks in the newsroom, from high-profile cover stories to nuts-and-bolts fact gathering and research.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a truly international publishing house with the opportunity for travel both within the US and overseas, sometimes frequently. The successful candidate will be expected to spend three months in London as part of their induction and as such, will need a valid passport.

To apply please complete the application form below, sending a covering letter explaining why you are suitable for the role, a copy of your resume including up to two references, and an example of your writing about law or business.
